From Vöran to the ‘Knottnkino’: this circular hiking trail starts at the car park above the ‘Grüner Baum’ hotel in Vöran, roughly a 35-minute drive from our family hotel near Meran. The ‘Schützenbründlweg’ trail (no. 14) leads from there up to the ‘Knottnkino’ on the Rotsteinkogel. Once at the top you are rewarded with a breathtaking view over the Etschtal Valley, the Meran valley basin and the Meran mountains. With clear views you can see as far as the city of Bolzano – simply magical. You return on the trails no. 11 and no. 16.

Adventure trail along the Marling Waalweg irrigation channel: the Marling irrigation channel trail is the longest in South Tyrol at 12 kilometres. The hike along the irrigation channel can be interrupted at any point and picked up again later on. The Partschins Sagenweg: just a 15-minute drive from our family hotel near Meran is the idyllic town of Partschins. The hike leads from the town centre to the Waalweg irrigation channel, past the Partschins waterfall and over the adventurous suspended bridge back to the starting point. The trail course is marked with wooden boards which show two hunters from the neolithic period. You can find prehistoric cup rocks, a cave where people once lived, the legendary Stuaner Geada hut and the Teufelsplatte plateau along the hiking trail.
