Getting to Marling near Meran in South Tyrol by car

From Austria

Vienna/Austria
Coming from Vienna you drive via Linz, Salzburg and Rosenheim as far as Innsbruck and then to the Brennerpass. From there you take the A 22 motorway as far as the Bozen Süd exit. Then you take the MeBo fast road (SS 38) towards Meran as far as the Marling exit (roughly 30 km). Follow the main road into the village of Marling and drive through it. After the railway crossing follow the signs to the La Maiena Meran Resort.

Vorarlberg/Western Austria
Coming from Vorarlberg you drive via Feldkirch, Bludenz and St. Anton am Arlberg as far as Landeck and then continue on the B 180 Reschenstraße as far as Nauders, carry on to the Reschenpass and the italian border. Pass the border and continue on the SS 40 main road as far as Spondinig. Here you take the second exit off the roundabout and follow the SS 38 as far as Algund where the main road merges into the MeBo fast road (SS 38). On the fast road drive towards Bozen as far as the Marling exit (less than 2 km). Follow the main road into the village of Marling and drive through it. After the railway crossing follow the signs to the La Maiena Meran Resort.

From Germany

Via Garmisch-Partenkirchen
From Garmisch-Partenkirchen you drive to Imst and onto the A 12 towards Bregenz. At the Oberinntal motorway junction take the exit towards Italy/Switzerland and pass through the Landeck tunnel. On the B 180 Reschenstraße you reach Nauders just before the italian border. Follow the road through the village, pass the Reschenpass and continue on the SS 40 main road as far as Spondinig. Here you take the second exit off the roundabout and follow the SS 38 as far as Algund where the main road merges into the MeBo fast road (SS 38). On the fast road drive towards Bozen as far as the Marling exit (less than 2 km). Follow the main road into the village of Marling and drive through it. Via Munich/Innsbruck
Coming from Munich you drive via Rosenheim and Innsbruck to the Brennerpass. From there you take the A 22 motorway as far as the Bozen Süd exit. From Switzerland

Zurich
Coming from Zurich you drive via Landquart, Klosters and Davos as far as Zernez, follow route 28, pass the Ofenpass and enter the Münstertal and Italy. Take the SS 41 main road through Taufers in Münstertal as far as Glurns, where you turn right at the town square towards Schluderns. Continue as far as the traffic lights and turn right there towards Meran. Continue on the SS 40 as far as Spondinig. Here you take the second exit off the roundabout and follow the SS 38 as far as Algund where the main road merges into the MeBo fast road (SS 38). On the fast road drive towards Bozen as far as the Marling exit (less than 2 km). Follow the main road into the village of Marling and drive through it. After the railway crossing follow the signs to the La Maiena Meran Resort.

From St. Gallen and Thurgau

Grisons, Glarus, Uri and St. gallen
Coming from Switzerland you drive on the B 28 as far as Zernez, then over the Ofenpass and into the Münstertal where you pass the italian border. Coming from southern Italy you drive on the A 22 motorway as far as Bozen, take the Bozen Süd exit and take the MeBo fast road (SS 38). Take the Marling exit (roughly 30 km). Follow the main road into the village of Marling and drive through it. After the railway crossing follow the signs to the La Maiena Meran Resort.

The Meraner Land Express takes you to the Merano and environs holiday region from the central bus station in Munich (ZOB) every Wednesday and Saturday from the end of March to Mid-November.

Meinfernbus
Meinfernbus travels from Munich and Innsbruck to Marling three times a day.
As Munich’s central bus station is the most important hub in the coach network there are opportunities to change coaches and you can get to Munich from every corner of Germany, including Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Leipzig and Nuremberg.

Travelling by coach from Switzerland

Südtirol Express
The Südtirol express takes you conveniently from St. Gallen to Meran from April to October. The ticket price includes a drop-off and pick-up service to and from your accommodation.

The Swiss Eurobus coach company offers trips to South Tyrol.
