South Tyrol’s wine-growing country is as multi-faceted as its wines. The mediterranean climate in the Etschtal Valley around Bozen as far as Meran makes it possible to grow various grape varieties. Almost all the red and many grape varieties flourish magnificently in South Tyrol’s wine-growing country. The three autochthonous grape varieties Lagrein, Vernatsch and Gewürztraminer are the most frequently cultivated in the South Tyrolean wine country - many of the wines produced with them are among the top Italian wines awarded by ‘Gambero Rosso’ (Italy's most famous gourmet publisher).
„Wine is poetry in a bottle.“
